There are many types of Search and Rescue organizations and governmental departments. A completely volunteer (read- not paid for by tax payer dollars, but by the volunteers themselves) is the MARK9 Posse. They are the Maricopa K9 Search & Rescue Posse which serves the Maricopa County community in Arizona. This organization specializes in finding lost people. They deploy within minutes of that call for help channeled through the county sheriff's office. On occasion they have even been called in to help other regions beyond their home territory. Combining their love for training dogs and helping the community this team works and gives above and beyond the call of duty.
